The 8 Best B2B SaaS Content Marketing Agencies (Compared by How They Build Authority in AI Search)

Content marketing agencies offer similar services, but they take different paths to create results. We believe content growth starts with authority. So we analyzed 8 companies based on where they believe authority comes from and how they build it.

Content marketing is in the middle of a new phase. Buyers now ask ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude to evaluate tech vendors before they visit company websites. Ranking for keywords still has value, but it's not the main goal anymore. For your brand to appear in the shortlist now depends on whether AI tools choose to cite your content.

And it turns out AI tools are picky quoters. In our other article, we’ve covered how LLMs pick content. They, like humans, like learning new information. If you're repeating what everyone else has already published, there's little reason to reference you.

The agencies on this list understand that shift. We reviewed each agency's public methodology, services, and case studies to understand how they build authority in AI search. Their strategies differ, but they all focus on creating content that helps B2B tech companies become authoritative voices in their markets.

TL;DR

The eight agencies below help you attain AI-search visibility, but they get there in different ways:

  • Animalz → SEO, AEO, and executive thought leadership.
  • Zmist & Copy → strategy-first content rooted in customer research and positioning.
  • Omniscient Digital → organic growth programs that prioritize pipeline over traffic.
  • Siege Media → SEO, GEO, design, and digital PR under one roof.
  • Skale → AI visibility and SaaS SEO measured in SQLs, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Grow and Convert → Pain Point SEO for Google and AI search.
  • Campfire Labs → journalism-style content driven by expert interviews and research.
  • Foundation → content distribution and repurposing that extends every asset's reach.

How is this list different?

There are plenty of "best B2B SaaS content marketing agency" lists online. Most compare agencies by the services they offer: SEO, content writing, thought leadership, AI optimization, distribution, and so on.

We took a different approach.

Instead of comparing what agencies do, we compared how they believe authority is built.

Some believe SEO is the primary growth engine. Others start with positioning before writing a single article. Some build authority through original research, while others focus on distribution or executive thought leadership.

They all produce content. What separates them is how they help their clients build authority.

How we define authority. 4 main questions that predict content success

Authority means a buyer trusts what a piece of content says enough to believe it. That trust comes from a clear point of view, a number backing up a claim, or a perspective that stands apart from the rest.

With that definition in mind, we evaluated every agency against four questions, using its published methodology, case studies, and service pages as evidence:

Does strategy come first, or is it assumed?

The best B2B SaaS content marketing agency creates content strategies informed by positioning, ICP, and a point of view. That gives every piece a purpose and keeps the messaging consistent. When strategy comes later (or worse, never) the content turns into a collection of disconnected topics chosen because they seemed worth writing about.

Is the content built from expertise, or from traditional SEO-heavy research?

The strongest agencies combine keyword research with original insights to produce content competitors can't recreate. When research is the only source, the topic may be right, but the content rarely adds anything buyers haven't already read elsewhere.

Does the agency treat content as one part of a connected system?

Strategy, content, distribution, and performance measurement should work together. Each informs the next. If they're connected, performance data feeds the next strategy call, and the next piece of content gets sharper because of it.

Do the agency's case studies include specific evidence?

A credible portfolio names the client, explains what changed, and backs the outcome with numbers. That gives readers something they can verify.

As we didn't sit in on any agency's strategy calls (except our own), this evaluation is based on publicly available information. We can't verify how an agency works behind the scenes, so we only assessed what it chose to make public.

There are only four ways content agencies create authority

How agencies build authority

Core belief

Typical tactics

Example agencies

Research-led

Buyers trust companies that understand their problems better than anyone else.

Customer interviews, ICP research, positioning, messaging, founder insights

Zmist & Copy

Search-led

Buyers trust brands they consistently discover when researching solutions.

SEO, GEO, AI visibility, technical SEO, topic clusters

Animalz, Omniscient, Skale

Proof-led

Buyers trust original evidence more than opinions.

Surveys, proprietary reports, benchmark studies, case studies, expert interviews

Animalz, Campfire Labs

Distribution-led

Great content only creates authority if people repeatedly encounter it.

Repurposing, LinkedIn, newsletters, digital PR, community, social distribution

Foundation, Siege Media

Let's talk about the agencies themselves.

Animalz: Authority through SEO, AEO, and thought leadership

Animalz B2B SaaS content marketing agency

Animalz started in New York in 2015 as a small crew of ex-lawyers, neuroscientists, and researchers who built the agency on reputation and word of mouth. And that reputation has traveled far. The client roster now includes Google, GoDaddy, Atlassian, Intercom, Amplitude, Rilla, and Preply.

A quick look at Animalz's service page shows that content is only one piece of the puzzle. The agency groups its work into Brand, Demand Generation, SEO/AEO, Product Marketing, and Creative & Design. AEO is one of the clearest priorities in Animalz's offering.

It also offers a LinkedIn Thought Leadership program that turns founder and executive interviews into distinctive posts. One more service is Survey-Driven Whitepapers. These are reports built on original survey research, designed by the agency and backed with real data.

Their case studies are just as specific. Frontify grew organic traffic 52% and generated 25,000 visits, 550 leads, and at least 4 influenced deals from a single piece of content. SupportLogic grew organic traffic 5X in 12 months while rebuilding its strategy around AI search disruption. Preply added 25,000 new monthly visitors through persona-focused SEO. And this list can go on and on.

Best for: companies that want SEO, AEO, and thought leadership handled by one resourced team.

Zmist & Copy: Authority through positioning and customer research

Zmist & Copy B2B SaaS content marketing agency

The list isn't complete without adding yourself in it, right? We’re a content marketing agency for B2B tech brands that build authority through strategy, content, and operations.

Strategy starts with research, where we define your best-fit customers. To do it, we analyze your existing clients to understand buying triggers, objections, and decision patterns. That research shapes the ICP. Then we define your value proposition, differentiation, and a point of view (we also have a separate positioning service for companies rethinking their place in the market). Our content strategy is informed by those inputs.

Before we write content, we interview founders, tech experts, and sales teams to capture first-hand knowledge. Those interviews become the raw material behind the Context Engine, our approach to writing content mapped to three funnel stages:

  • Teach & Tilt (TOFU) is educational content that challenges assumptions and pushes a unique point of view.
  • See It Solved (MOFU) is how-to content that shows your product solving problems with specific examples.
  • Results-Forward (BOFU) is proof-driven case studies that lead with outcomes to build credibility.

Every piece gets repurposed across LinkedIn, newsletters, YouTube videos, and other channels once it's published, so one article turns into more than one asset.

Operations establishes the systems behind content marketing. We audit your current process, define roles, build workflows, ensure editorial standards, and set up a system that keeps content moving. Every project arrives as a publish-ready package with copy, visuals, metadata, and supporting assets. Our team runs the weekly meetings, tracks the schedule, manages quality, and reports on results every month.

Zmist & Copy services

The results of our clients prove our approach works. 1LIMS, a lab management system for F&B manufacturers, had a product and a market demand, but no marketing presence at all. We started with positioning and rebuilt the website around it. Then we rolled out an inbound content engine. Within a year, 1LIMS went from zero to 4,500 monthly organic visits and 30-plus monthly conversions. The newsletter alone accounts for 22% of the site’s traffic.

For more cases, see our portfolio.

Best for: B2B SaaS that want to build authority through expert-led content.

Omniscient Digital: Authority through revenue-focused SEO

Omniscient Digital B2B SaaS content marketing agency

Omniscient Digital was founded by people who previously ran growth and content teams at HubSpot, Shopify, and Workato. That experience carries into the agency's positioning, where revenue, not traffic, is the primary goal.

The agency sells SEO strategy, Generative Engine Optimization, programmatic SEO, technical SEO, content production, digital PR, link building, and analytics as separate services.

Omniscient aims to make organic search a predictable source of pipeline and revenue. The framework behind that approach is the Barbell Content Strategy. Inspired by Nassim Taleb's Barbell Strategy, it balances two types of content: product-led articles that generate predictable pipeline and revenue, and thought leadership designed to earn backlinks and brand awareness. Rather than rely on one type of content, Omniscient treats both as essential parts of a long-term organic growth strategy.

Now, let's turn to their published case studies. To be honest, they're packed with numbers. Jasper increased organic sessions by 810% and product signups by 400x. Order.co grew organic blog sessions by 2,117% and increased blog conversions by 39× through a combination of SEO strategy, content production, and optimization. Beyond these case studies, Omniscient has worked with Loom, Hotjar, Adobe, Asana, TikTok, and 360Learning.

Best for: B2B tech companies that want to turn organic search into a predictable source of pipeline and revenue.

Siege Media: Authority through design and digital PR

Siege Media B2B SaaS content marketing agency

Most agencies will write your content and tell you to go find someone else for design or PR. Siege Media doesn't do that. SEO, content, design, digital PR, it's all one team, plus content strategy, content creation, GEO, analytics, and web design. To keep it all moving, Siege built two proprietary tools: BlueprintIQ and DataFlyWheel.

BlueprintIQ is an AI content strategy engine. It runs behind the scenes, analyzing competitors and surfacing content opportunities so you can move faster from research to a finished roadmap, audit, or brief. DataFlyWheel, in turn, monitors published content and refreshes 20 to 60 pieces every quarter and combines new data with AI-assisted updates and a human editorial pass. And it works for their clients.

For example, Zendesk's blog grew organic traffic 657%, added $959K in traffic value, and now shows up in 98% of LLM responses for relevant industry terms. One more project, Mentimeter, generated 250,000 visits from ChatGPT alone.

Best for: B2B technology companies that combine strategy, design, SEO, and digital PR into one organic growth program.

Skale: Authority through SQL-focused SEO and GEO

Skale B2B SaaS content marketing agency

Skale is an AI search-first organic growth agency that measures success in SQLs, pipeline, and revenue. Unlike most agencies on this list, it speaks directly to SaaS companies. Its services include Generative Engine Optimization, AI Brand Mentions, SaaS SEO, Link Building & Outreach, Content Production, and Website Migrations.

Skale helps brands increase their AI visibility through Generative Engine Optimization and AI Brand Mentions. GEO helps brands get discovered and cited inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode. AI Brand Mentions works alongside it, defending a brand's presence in the sources those same AI engines already trust.

Some of Skale's case studies center on AI visibility. One example is Jitter, a motion design and animation tool that competes in a category dominated by Adobe and Canva. Using Skale's AI Brand Mentions service, Jitter grew its AI brand coverage from 22% to 55% in four months. Brand mentions and domain citations both grew 90X, and its average position inside AI-generated tool recommendations improved from 2.25 to 1.96.  If you spend a few minutes in their portfolio, you'll see more projects backed by concrete metrics.

Best for: SaaS companies that put AI visibility at the center of their organic growth strategy.

Grow and Convert: Authority through customer pain points

Grow and Convert B2B SaaS content marketing agency

Grow and Convert offers Content + SEO, Content + GEO, Content Writing, SaaS SEO, AI SEO, and Content Strategy, along with less common services such as Technical SEO and Paid Search. Their content strategy starts at the bottom of the funnel, where, instead of building an editorial calendar around search volume, the team maps every topic to a customer pain point or sales objection.

The idea is simple: if a piece of content can't help move someone closer to becoming a customer, it doesn't make the roadmap. That's the thinking behind the agency's Pain Point SEO framework, which prioritizes topics around problems potential customers are actively trying to solve.

The agency has also built its own AI products around that process. WaveWriter.ai turns an outline into a first draft, informed by a company's own marketing materials, product details, and differentiators, while Traqer.ai monitors how brands appear in AI search engines and surfaces opportunities to improve visibility.

As for the case studies, Grow and Convert helped Smartlook grow conversions to their content to more than 600 per month in 16 months. One more case is Level AI, which managed to appear in AI search results for 100+ high-buying-intent prompts.

Best for: B2B SaaS companies that prioritize Google and AI search strategies built around real customer problems.

Campfire Labs: Authority through journalism

Campfire Labs B2B SaaS content marketing agency

Campfire Labs was founded by journalists, so most of its services revolve around writing. The agency offers content strategy, thought leadership, SEO content, reports, newsletters, case studies, and social content. And because good stories deserve good presentation, design is part of every project from day one. To meet the demand for AI search visibility, Campfire Labs has recently introduced Generative AI Strategy as its service offering.

The agency approaches content like a newsroom. Projects begin with interviews with subject-matter experts. Research comes next. Then the team transforms technical ideas into stories people want to read. Client testimonials highlight the team's interviewing skills and ability to uncover compelling angles.

When working with Clearbit, Campfire helped plan, execute, and distribute the company's first microsite, Data-Driven Sales. Over two quarters, it attracted 75,000 new subscribers and generated $30,000 a month in recurring revenue. Not every project comes with performance metrics, but the agency also showcases the work itself, including eBooks, reports, thought leadership, and case studies.

Best for: tech B2B brands that grow through trust and thought leadership.

Foundation: Authority through distribution

Foundation B2B SaaS content marketing agency

Ross Simmonds, who started Foundation, later turned the agency's philosophy into the book Create Once, Distribute Forever. The idea is that a single piece of content should be treated as a starting point, then repurposed and redistributed across search, LinkedIn, newsletters, and now the AI systems. If the other agencies focus on creating better content, Foundation cares about getting that content in front of the right people.

The agency, of course, understands the value of growing AI visibility. It offers Generative Engine Optimization Strategy, Technical SEO, and LLM Advertising, alongside its longer-standing work in Content Creation, Content Distribution, Content Repurposing, Strategy, Social Media, Reddit Marketing, Link Building, GTM Services, SEO, and Paid Search.

If you browse the case studies, you'll find plenty of measurable outcomes. One audience intelligence platform increased social engagement by more than 300% in three months, while a SaaS company grew sign-ups by 128% with Foundation. Their portfolio also includes work for Canva, Procore, Unbounce, Mailchimp, Snowflake, Paychex, and Bitly.

Best for: B2B tech companies that already produce solid content but see it die after one channel and one publish date.

What kind of agency do you need?

We consider the agencies we chose for this list to be the best at what they’re doing. But then again, we can’t say which one of them would be your perfect match. Here are a few common situations, and what each one usually calls for:

  • Your strategy is clear, you need more content produced → prioritize production-focused agencies.
  • You want buyers to find you through AI search → look for an agency with a documented AEO methodology.
  • Your content dies after one channel → choose agencies that treat distribution as part of the engagement.
  • Pipeline and SQLs are the only metrics leadership trusts → work with agencies that report in those terms by default.
  • You can't say why a buyer should pick you over the three companies who sound just like you → start with an agency that puts research and positioning before content production.

If generic content isn't your cup of tea, book a free consultation with us. We'll look at your current content and positioning, and recommend the next step.
